Cute little lava dragon by TB-Samurai Cute little lava dragon by TB-Samurai
I put this in the anime and manga section since young Volvagia doesn't appear in the video games, just the manga.

I like how they did Volvagia in the manga. In the game, he was just some random evil dragon. But in the manga, Volvagia was a baby dragon Link bought in Hyrule Castle Town. They became friends. After Link went into his seven year sleep, Ganondorf cursed the dragon, turning it evil and forcing it to try to kill Link. Link, sadly, was forced to kill Volvagia by beheading it. That part of the manga made me cry.

So very cute~

I liked the additional depth the author gave Volvagia in the manga, really kept me from looking at the Volvagia fight the same way again ^^

Hm... At the end of Ocarina of Time, Link is sent back in time to his childhood... And (If I'm reading things correctly) most have no memory of the stuff that went down in Adult Link's section of the game. Wouldn't that technically mean Baby Volvagia would still be alive then? And he could just go back to Hyrule Market to re-obtain and befriend him again?

The title of this pic is right. Volvagia's so cute in this version! :love:

But it is sad that he had to kill the dragon later on. Poor thing. :tears:
Curse you Ganondorf! :fork::shakefish:

Most people think Volvagia is a she or an it, hut Volvagia is a guy. If you pay attention to what Link says in the manga, you'll see, quite obviously, Volvagia is a guy.

Anyhow, nice picture! Almost as cute as he is in the manga!

That was so sad, yeah. But one thing I think you shoulda left out is that grey 'helmet' thing... I think that's what was the curse on Volvagia, put there by Gannondorf. :shrug:

I never really noticed it wasn't there in the manga until after I drew this. This is an old drawing.

I don't think it has to do with the curse, but it grows there as the dragon matures, kind of like a shell.

That was such a gut-wrenching story! Link was left with absolutely no choice but to kill his friend. And when he did, Volvagia was freed from the curse and spoke Link's name just before he died. Kudos!

That part in the manga made me cry so much. :( I love Volvagia and how cute he was.

At least Link gets to go back in time several years after his quest, when his dragon friend is still alive. ^^
